.....Demographics and Health Risks of Ethnic Minority Elders: A Curriculum Resource Packet, by Gwen Yeo. Working Paper #14, Stanford, CA: Stanford Geriatric Education Center, 1996. A series of charts and tables designed for use as transparencies describing the size and characteristics of the four ethnic minority categories of older Americans (African American, America Indian/Alaska Native, Asian/ Pacific Islanders, and Hispanic). The size and characteristics of the specific older ethnic groups within the four categories are also presented where they are available. Asian ethnic groups were especially featured in information from National Asian Pacific Center on Aging. A summary of health risks among different older ethnic populations is included in chart form. Reston, VA: American Medical Student Association/Foundation, 1994. An excellent module exploring the impact of patients' cultural beliefs and values on medical practice and the practitioner. Includes sections on ethnocentrism and language and communication with case histories and discussion suggestions. Not specific to geriatrics.

.....Multicultural Focus on Advance Directives, Milwaukee, Wisconsin, Wisconsin Geriatric Education Center - Marquette University, 1994. This module contains the objectives, methodology, materials, and time frame needed to conduct a training session for community liaisons on advance directives. It is designed as a model; however, presenters should adapt and make changes in order to conform to individual state laws and practices. 27 pages.
